How does the wireless communication among the secure@home system devices work?

The used radio frequency is 868,3 MHz (standard in Europe, but allowed also in other countries, according to the local regulations). The communication is bidirectional, allowing not only the sensors to communicate their status and the alarms to the central unit, but also the central unit to send the configuration directly to the sensors. An encryption key protects the data exchange among the system devices; the communication with the remote controls is further protected by a rolling code.
